Shipping & Returns Policy

Shipping Information

General Shipping Terms

Nationwide Generators makes every effort to meet estimated shipping and delivery timelines. However, delivery dates are not guaranteed and may be affected by manufacturer delays, weather events, or other unforeseen conditions. We reserve the right to adjust shipping timelines as needed.


Shipping Rates

  • $18 flat rate applies to orders under $149
  • Free ground shipping applies to:
    • Generators
    • Orders over $149
    • Valid within most of the contiguous 48 U.S. states

Note: Free shipping applies to completed deliveries only and does not apply to returns.


Shipping Restrictions

We do not ship directly to:

  • Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, Puerto Rico, Guam
  • U.S. Territories or outlying areas
  • APO/FPO addresses
  • PO Boxes

Customers in these locations must arrange their own freight through a broker.


Processing & Delivery Times

  • In-stock items: Ship within approximately 24 business hours (Mon–Fri, excluding holidays)
  • Estimated delivery: 5–10 business days
  • Factory-direct / non-stock items: May require 10 days up to 10+ weeks depending on the product

All delivery timeframes are estimates and may vary by carrier and location.


Freight & Large Item Deliveries

Liftgate Curbside Delivery (150 lbs+)

  • Delivered to curbside or end of driveway only
  • Customer is responsible for moving the item to its final location
  • Drivers are not required to enter property, garages, or navigate long/private roads
  • Additional access-related charges may apply

Large Equipment (No Liftgate Available)

For oversized items (e.g., liquid-cooled generators, trailer units):

  • Must be delivered to a dock or
  • Customer must provide equipment to unload from the truck
  • Delivery to jobsite is possible if accessible by freight truck and proper equipment is available

Optional Liftgate Service

  • Some items may require an optional liftgate for $75

Delivery Scheduling & Responsibilities

For LTL freight shipments:

  • Customer must schedule delivery directly with the carrier
  • Delivery must be accepted within 2 business days of carrier contact
  • Specific delivery times cannot be guaranteed

Failure to comply may result in:

  • Storage fees
  • Re-delivery charges
  • Additional carrier-related fees

Inspection at Delivery

Customers must inspect all shipments before signing:

  • Verify correct items and quantities
  • Check for visible damage

Important:

  • Signing confirms the shipment was received in good condition
  • Damage claims after acceptance must be handled directly with the carrier
  • Refused deliveries without damage are treated as returns

Additional Shipping Charges

Additional fees may apply for:

  • Missed appointments
  • Incorrect addresses
  • Re-delivery or re-routing
  • Limited access locations (job sites, rural areas, etc.)
  • Specialized delivery conditions (mountains, islands, ferries, high-density cities)
  • Storage fees

Returns Policy

Return Eligibility

Returns are accepted only if:

  • A Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) is requested within 30 days of shipment
  • Items are:
    • New, unused, and uninstalled
    • In original packaging with all materials included

Photos of the product are required to initiate the return process.


Return Costs & Fees

Customer is responsible for:

  • Original outbound shipping (non-refundable)
  • Return shipping
  • Restocking fee of 5%–30% (depending on product and condition)

Free shipping promotions do not apply to returned items.


Non-Returnable Items

The following cannot be returned:

  • Used, installed, or modified products
  • Products with fuel or oil added
  • Custom or special-order items
  • Certain large equipment as designated at time of purchase
    • Liquid Cooled Generators and 400A Transfer Switches or Larger cannot be returned after 3 days

Factory-direct items require manufacturer approval for return and may be subject to 20–30% restocking fees.


Damaged or Defective Items

  • Any damage must be reported at time of delivery
  • Do not sign for damaged shipments—contact us immediately
  • Warranty issues after acceptance must be handled through the manufacturer

Refunds

  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method or a check is mailed
  • Processing time: approximately 2–4 weeks after approval and inspection

Return Authorization (RMA)

  • Required for all returns
  • Valid for 14 days after issuance
  • Returns without an RMA will not be accepted

Important Notes

  • Products returned that are not in new condition will not be eligible for refund
  • All returned freight items must be shipped using a carrier arranged by the customer
  • Any promotional or free items must also be returned in new condition or will be deducted from the refund
